Musings: George Clooney Finally Committing?

So George Clooney is finally getting married... or going to.

Astrologers are all scrambling for the astrology chart of Amal Alamuddin.

I can't find her chart, or her birth date. But it doesn't matter.

The question is can George Clooney commit, or rather why didn't he commit earlier or why did he commit this time? I decide to take a peek at his chart. It is pretty telling.

George Clooney's Natal Chart (Birthtime: 2.58 a.m)

Sun at 16 Taurus
Moon at 28 Capricorn
Mercury at 21 Taurus
Venus at 14 Aries
Mars at 1 Leo
Jupiter at 7 Aquarius
Saturn at 30 Capricorn
Uranus at 22 Leo
Neptune at 10 Scorpio
Pluto at 6 Virgo
North Node at 4 Virgo

Chart Reading:

George has an incomplete Grand Cardinal Cross. Several T-squares going on.

Sun conjunct Mercury Taurus
That makes him a charismatic speaker, probably humourous too.

Moon conjunct Saturn in Capricorn
Moon-Saturn conjunct Jupiter
Moon represents the mother and the woman in his life. A Moon-Saturn conjunction shows that his mother played an authoritative role in his upbringing. He grew up to be a very disciplined and responsible person, somewhat very rigid in his beliefs. In a woman, he would want someone he can "father" over as the moon here is hardly nurturing. He would be particular over how things get done. The aspect turns out to be harsher since it is also in Capricorn and conjuncting Jupiter (expansion). Capricorn Moons aren't advised to marry until they are much older. George Clooney got married to Talia Balsam in 1989 after a short courtship and it ended up in divorce in 1993. He just wasn't ready, and when it failed, he took it harder on himself that marriage wasn't his thing and he shouldn't be ruining people with it (except he ruined people in another way without knowing).

Venus in Aries
Venus in Aries would explain why he falls in love with so many women so easily.

Mars opposite Moon-Saturn-Jupiter
The Mars opposition explains a lot of things. Sex, to him, is totally in opposition to his emotions. The point opposite to Saturn is also the point to relieve Saturn's karma, the point of freedom. Basically that "stellium" points him to his Mars whenever he wants to escape his emotional duties and responsibilities. He will have an inclination to have a rovering eye even when he is in a relationship with someone. His Mars is also in the 5th house, house of creativity and romance. There is an urge to escape and seek new romances/excitement/projects because he gets too bored "parenting" his partner.

I got bored so moving on to asteroid reading.

Neptune-Eros squaring the Moon-Saturn and Mars opposition
Eros conjunct Neptune in Scorpio sounds like a great aspect for actors to have. Very passionate and dreamy in pulling off characters. It's very telling where his sexual magnetism onscreen comes from. With it squaring Moon-Saturn and Mars opposition, in the 8th house and also in Scorpio, it actually sounds a little naughty yet challenging. I think sexual fantasies come into play. I shall not go into details.

I read through his biography and after reading he's a Roman Catholic, I had to plug in asteroid Priapus.

Sure enough...

Priapus conjunct Moon-Saturn
The Priapus point is much debated but I'll stick it my way. The Priapus point is where you feel helpless and repressed and you'll hate it when people disturb you at that point. George has it exactly on his Moon-Saturn point, which will just make him harder on himself.

Interestingly, I found out Talia Balsam's Moon conjuncts George's Moon in synastry. So even when he has this great Moon-Moon conjunction with her, the Saturn and Priapus on top of her Moon makes it harder for him as he felt bounded by duties and also hated losing (perhaps for not doing good enough) when he sensed things weren't working out in their marriage. As a strict Roman Catholic, his views towards marriage would also be stricter than a normal being so a part of him would have felt that he failed terribly after the first marriage. This is also why he was very against marriage after the first.

I also sense "heavy karma" in his chart.

Asteroid Karma-Chiron-Juno conjunct South Node (12H)
Pluto conjunct North Node
Karma-Chiron conjuncting South Node in the 12th house suggests past karmic wounds holding him back. There are unseen wounds due to the 12H nature. With Juno there, it suggests commitment could be the issue. He uses it and transforms himself using Pluto towards his North Node in 6th house (Virgo), focusing through his work and service. This could explain his interest in humanitarian work and being a political activist.

Asteroid Atlantis conjunct Kaali
Asteroid Atlantis square Uranus (exact)
I'm not sure how to go from here but it suggests strong Kundalini power related to a past Atlantean life. In fact, he might even be aware of it due to the Uranus trigger. Again, heavy "Atlantis" karma is emphasized.

I actually googled and found his birthdate close to the premiere of an "Atlantis" movie. Pretty hilarious. I'm starting to think the girls in his life are related to him in his past life (so many...) so they meet again in this life to claim back karmic debt and he kept repeating his mistakes.

Final Reading:

So can George Clooney commit?

Saturn/Capricorn-heavy charts treat themselves harshly when they are younger and eventually learn to chill out as they get older. At his age, he should be done learning and relearning lessons from his Saturn. It's about time he took it easy.

And is Amal the right woman for her?

I don't have her chart but I did use a name asteroid. Asteroid Alma (which means soul in Spanish) would represent Amal right.....?

Asteroid Alma isn't doing much on his chart. Alma is on his first house so she makes him feel good about himself.

George has Pallas conjunct Ascendent. Pallas refers to creative intelligence, which makes him a good adviser in the political scene.

Probably unfair reading here but the closeness of Pallas to Alma (it's not really close to be honest), makes me think he's picking someone he thinks is good enough for him in his mind. Which means, for his goals/ future endeavors.

( I found out later there are other "Amal" asteroids. But the reading is generally similar as 2 are in 1st house, 1 is actually conjuncting his North Node.)

If you compare Amal to the other girls he've dated, you will realize the other girls are vastly different from her. The past girls he had dated are either Hollywood stars or supermodels. George's Juno-Pallas midpoints falls on his Ascendent (exact). Perhaps the reason he never committed just might be he didn't date the "right" girl, for the "right" girl he wants to commit officially enough to marry is someone to match up with him in the form of "Pallas" intellect.

But is this love?

I've always found how Pallas picks partners to be interesting. It isn't 100% love as it is what I call "picking someone who is right for you". And the "right person" here usually means in the eyes of the public.

Perhaps, with new goals in mind, he finds it is the right time to pick the "right person" to marry.

But until I see her chart, this is just speculation. I do however think there is Pallas activation in their synastry.
